CONTEXT:

The idea of the ProBM 2 project comes from the fact that each year, more and more enterprises are established, but less than 40% of them manage to survive the first 5 years. The main problem is that many entrepreneurs-to-be do not value the power of business models and seem not to pay enough attention to this stage of a company creation.

European and worldwide markets have been suffering in the recent years from significant and sudden changes related to globalisation, the European integration, the ICT development, and the global economic crisis. All these elements force companies to change their business strategies and models and adapt them to the increasingly competitive global market.  A need to introduce such business strategy and business model-related changes is particularly evident in the case of small and medium enterprises, as they are most vulnarable to the changing economic environment. The interactions between companies and other market players are considered as key factors in developing successful businesses (Mele, Russo-Spena & Colurcio, 2010) and in order to highlight these elements, a clear model is crucial to define a correct strategy.

The ProBM 2 project is a continuation of the ProBM project “Understanding and Developing Business Models” (carried out as part of the ERASMUS+ programme), in which the partners developed a simple business model compendium to assist present and future entrepreneurs.

Based on this compendium, a training course (available on-line and offline) for adult educators and training providers can be prepared to educate present/future entrepreneurs and other adults interested in gaining or extending knowledge or building skills in the area of business models.

OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of the ProBM 2 project is to improve the skills and knowledge of adult educators and training providers in teaching business models. The acquired knowledge and skills will directly contribute to the design of a well-prepared and appropriate business model and its use by the project beneficiaries (adults wishing to undertake business activity or already running a business) in their enterprises.

PARTICIPANTS:

The target group includes adult educators and training providers willing to teach business models, entrepreneurs-to-be, and other adults (as beneficiaries) who wish to extend their knowledge of business models and skills relating to business model creation and application.
